The festival "Czech Death Fest " was founded in 2009 as a purely domestic music festival for Czech hard rock bands.
The 2025 edition will be the sixteenth continuation.
The festival is a counterbalance to the big foreign and Czech festivals, which invite mainly foreign performers to their events. That is why we have created a platform for Czech, Slovak, Polish and other artists not only from neighbouring countries standing outside the mainstream of musical entertainment. Over the years, we have also included many foreign bands that are interesting in their concept of hard rock and metal music and represent new directions of development. Every year the line-up also includes several big names of world metal, which always form the backbone and basis of the festival, such as Aborted (be), Dark Tranquillity (swe), Destruction (de), Diabolical (swe), Decapitated (pl), Entombed A.D. (swe), Hate (pl), In Aphelion (swe), Lock Up (uk), Morgoth (de), Napalm Death (gb), Pestilence (nl), Roting Christ (gr), Suffocation (usa), Septicflesh (gr), Shining (no), Asphyx (nl), Marduk (swe), Misery Index (usa), Vader (pl), The Ocean (de), Vomitory (swe), Necrophobic (swe) and many more.... After the initial two years, this dramaturgy has clearly proved its worth and the festival has earned its position among the flood of similar events and ranked among the five most prestigious metal festival events organized in the Czech Republic. In 2015-2018, the festival ranked third-fourth in the traditional poll of hard rock publicists "Břitva" (right behind the monstrosities Brutal Assault, Obscene Extréme festival and Masters of Rock) and even made it into the top 10 most popular festivals in the Czech Republic across all genres in the Prima TV poll. The project has thus gained its position and in Eastern Bohemia it is one of the traditional events, which every year attracts around 2,000 spectators from all over the Czech Republic and in recent years even Europe and the whole world.
